At the Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology Annual Scientific Session, 3 of our postdocs were selected as Finalists for the Young Investigators Competition. After six outstanding presentations, the judges selected Karsten Sydow for 1st place, and Katsuya Iijima for 3rd.

Vascular Medicine is a subspecialty of Medicine that is concerned with diseases of the blood vessels. These include:

  • Diseases of the arteries such as Coronary, Carotid or Peripheral Arterial Disease.
  • Diseases of the veins such as Varicose veins, thrombophlebitis, venous thrombosis.
  • Diseases of the lymphatics such as Lymphedema. Associated medical disorders such as Hypercholesterolemia, Hypertension, Diabetes, Vasculitis.
