Community
Faculty members in the Department of Biochemistry participate in a number of community outreach and educational programs, and are available to speak about their research at local community meetings, schools and companies. Our recent contributions include major advocacy in the area of biomedical research--in particular, the importance of federal and state funding for stem cell research. In addition, our faculty have been major proponents of open access to all biomedical research findings online.
